Former Chicago Bears quarterback Jim McMahon, a longtime advocate for medical cannabis as an alternative to opioids, has partnered with Revenant Holdings to introduce his Mac 9 marijuana brand in Illinois.

Revenant, co-founded by McMahon and fellow NFL players Kyle Turley and Eben Britton, had been seeking entry into the Illinois cannabis market for about a year.

They’ve teamed up with Elgin-based Flora Arbor, a craft-grow licensee, to produce Mac 9 products, including flower, pre-rolls, and vapes.

These products will be available in around 40 stores across Illinois, including major chains like Green Thumb Industries and Curaleaf, as well as independent dispensaries such as NuEra, High Haven, and Ivy Hall.

McMahon will also be conducting meet-and-greets at select stores to promote the product launch, emphasizing the brand’s mission to offer a natural alternative prioritizing well-being.

Revenant had previously launched in California and expanded into Arizona before entering the Illinois market.
